The Oberanger, a traditional lifeline of Munich’s historic city centre, has blossomed into a glamorous business boulevard in the past few years. The Palais am Jakobsplatz, one of the most attractive new office buildings in the city centre, is located here, not far from the Sendlinger Tor.
The neighbourhood offers numerous cafés and restaurants, as well as first-class shops. The Viktualienmarkt market, Marienplatz and the shopping streets of Kaufinger and Neuhauser Strasse are within easy walking distance.
The architecture of the Palais am Jakobsplatz is reminiscent of the palaces of the industrial era in the late 19th century: it consciously borrows from elements of Historicism, sophisticatedly elaborating upon them without losing itself in them.
The seven-storey building from 2004 features a pleasant natural stone façade whose strictly vertical structure gives it an ambitious character. The high French windows are shaded by cloth awnings, which add a dreamy touch of the Mediterranean to the Palais am Jakobsplatz that catches the eyes of passers-by.
When you enter the Palais through the tall, two-storey entryway, you are greeted by the custom-made crystal chandeliers, classic Bauhaus lamps, and red and white natural stone.
The features of the circulation and rental areas are as high quality as they are modern: the building houses air-conditioned office spaces with 2.90 metre ceilings, passenger lifts, a video intercom system, floor ducts and IT wiring.
